Buccaneers vs. Chargers Betting Prediction:
The Chargers really need this game for playoff purposes. They would have the #6 seed if the AFC playoffs started tomorrow. Los Angeles head coach Jim Harbaugh will likely try to run the football on Sunday. That would likely be a good strategy because Tampa Bay’s defense ranks 23rd in the NFL in opponent yards per rushing attempt. That approach could also offset the loss of multiple pass-catchers.
The Chargers will be without tight end Will Dissly and multiple reserve wide receivers on Sunday. To that end, wide receiver Ladd McConkey’s injury status is worth monitoring all the way up to game time. McConkey participated in individual drills this week during practice, so there’s a lot of optimism that he’ll play this weekend. In a potentially close game like this, I’m going to side with the better head coach. I’m laying the points with Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers in Los Angeles on Sunday.
