Cleveland Browns DFS Spin
Nick Chubb rushed 18 times for 76 yards, hauling in all four of his targets for (a nice) 69 receiving yards and one score in Cleveland’s Wild Card domination of the Steelers. Chubb opened the game on fire, rocketing to 17- and 20-yard gains with his first two carries. The Steelers nearly held him in check from that point forward, limiting him to 39 yards and 2.4 YPC for the rest of the game, but interim play-caller Alex Van Pelt intelligently kept the 25-year-old involved as a receiver, allowing Chubb to house a 40-yard screen pass following coach Mike Tomlin’s cowardly decision to punt the ball on 4th-and-6 while trailing 35-23 to open the fourth quarter. Chubb’s 22 touches were his most since Week 12, out-carrying Kareem Hunt 18-8. Chubb will return in the Divisional Round against the Chiefs as a strong option for any contrarian DFS builds.
Kansas City Chiefs DFS Spin
Sammy Watkins (calf) is out for the Divisional Round against the Browns. Watkins was injured in the Week 16 win, and the two weeks off still wasn’t enough to get him ready. He didn’t practice at all this week. It’ll be Mecole Hardman, Demarcus Robinson, and Byron Pringle soaking up snaps behind Tyreek Hill.
Browns vs. Chiefs Spread Prediction
The Browns are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven meetings between these two teams and so is the underdog, while the road side has covered in five of the previous six series meetings. The Chiefs, meanwhile, are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games as a home favorite, are 1-7 against the number in their last eight games overall and are winless at the betting window in their last four games. Patrick Mahomes and Co. should still put together a winning performance on Sunday but the Chiefs just haven’t covered much over the past month and this is a big number for a playoff game.
