Public Betting Trends
According to our NFL Football Public Betting Chart page, the Dolphins are receiving 70% of the betting tickets from online sportsbooks.
Cincinnati Bengals Fantasy Spin
Joe Mixon (calf) wasn’t listed on the Bengals’ final injury report. Mixon is good to go for Week 16’s potential smash spot against the Dolphins. Mixon has at least 15 touches in all six games since the Bengals’ Week 9 bye. The backfield has also trended towards more of a 60/40 split in Mixon’s favor compared to the 55/45 rotation that defined the first half of the season. Fire up Mixon as a low-end RB1 ahead of this week’s amazing matchup vs. the Dolphins.
Mami Dolphins Fantasy Spin
DeVante Parker caught 4-of-7 targets for 72 yards and two touchdowns in the Dolphins’ Week 15 loss to the Giants. Parker’s breakout season continues on. He pulled in a Ryan Fitzpatrick strike over the middle for a 20-yard touchdown early in the game and made a terrific contested-catch grab for touchdown No. 2 deep into lovely garbage time. Parker now has eight touchdowns on the season and may reach 1,000 yards next week against the Bengals. He’ll be on the WR1/2 borderline then.
NFL Betting Trends
Cincinnati
The Bengals have covered the spread in eight of their last 11 road games and have covered in five of their last seven conference games as well.
Miami
The Dolphins are 7-3 against the number in their last 10 games as an underdog but are just 9-19 against the number in their last 28 games played in the month of December.
Prediction
The Dolphins are catching 70% of the betting tickets yet, the line jumped the fence in this game, as Miami went from -1.5 and is now +1.5. That doesn’t make much sense. I’m fading the Dolphins, who have struggled in all areas defensively this season. The Bengals might be 1-13, but Mixon is a solid back and Andy Dalton needs to put good performances on film for when Cincinnati inevitably moves on from him this offseason. In a matchup of two bad teams that will likely be selecting in the top 5 of April’s NFL draft, I’ll take the Bengals, who are 4-2 against the spread on the road this season.
