Bears vs. Packers Pick
Is the under a safe bet to cash when the Packers host the Bears at 8:25PM ET on Thursday night this week?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Packers are now 7.5-point home favorites versus the Bears after opening as a 9-point favorite when the odds were released on Sunday night. As for the total, that number is also on the move, dropping from 47 points down to 46.
The Bears led the Jaguars until the closing minutes of the game last Sunday, eventually falling 17-16 as a 2.5-point home favorite. It was the fifth time this season that Chicago failed to cover the spread, with the team’s lone successful covering coming in its only victory of the year: A 17-14 win over the Lions as a 3-point home underdog in Week 4.
The Packers also lost on Sunday, dropping a 30-16 decision to Dak Prescott and the Cowboys at Lambeau Field. Green Bay is now 3-2 on the year and is just 2-2-1 against the spread, failing to cover as a 1.5-point favorite versus Minnesota in Week 2 and as a 5-point favorite last week against Dallas. The under has also cashed in three of the Packers’ five games this season.

OUR PREDICTION: The Packers’ offense isn’t firing on all cylinders at the moment. Whether it’s Aaron Rodgers, the offensive line, the play-calling, the running game or the receivers, Green Bay’s issues are real and it’s time to stop pretending that this team is going to light up the scoreboard weekly. With the Bears’ offense also struggling, it’s surprising that the total for this game opened at 47. Obviously some sharp bettors immediately jumped on the under, driving the number down to 46. Look for Green Bay’s stout run defense to rebound after it was gashed last week by Dallas, and for the Bears to struggle to move the ball. This should be a defensive struggle throughout.
