Falcons vs. Jaguars Preseason Prediction
Every NFL team will wrap up their preseason schedule on Thursday night, including the Falcons and Jaguars, who meet in Jacksonville at 7:00 p.m. ET. Will the Jags hand the Falcons yet another loss in exhibition play while also covering as a home favorite?
Game Snapshot
109 Atlanta Falcons at 110 Jacksonville Jaguars

TIAA Bank Field, Jacksonville, FL
Public Betting Trends
The Jaguars are 4-point home favorites versus the Falcons while the over/under currently sits at 32 points. According to our NFL Football Public Betting Chart page, the Jaguars are receiving 69% of the betting tickets from online sportsbooks.
Atlanta Falcons
Falcons coach Dan Quinn expects Julio Jones (foot) to be “full-go” next week. He said the same of LB Deion Jones, who has been brought along slowly coming off last year’s foot injury. Julio got a late start to training camp due to his own foot injury but is rounding into form and should be ready for Week 1 against the Vikings. The six-time Pro Bowler led the league in receiving yards for the second time last year and should remain a top-five player at his position in fantasy.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Jaguars DC Todd Wash said Jalen Ramsey will shadow Tyreek Hill in the Week 1 matchup with the Chiefs. Giddy up. This will be one of the highlight matchups of opening weekend. Ramsey is one of the best — if not the best — cover corners in the league but did have a bit of a down year for his standards last season as the Jaguars’ season crumbled beneath them. Ramsey being glued to Hill will likely mean Sammy Watkins will deal with A.J. Bouye on the other side. That could open things up for Travis Kelce inside, though Patrick Mahomes won’t be afraid to test Ramsey and Bouye.
NFL Betting Trends
Atlanta
The Falcons are a perfect 4-0 against the spread in their last four meetings with the Jaguars, although that record is reflective of their regular-season record against Jacksonville.
Jacksonville
The under is 5-1 in the last six meetings between these two teams, but all six were from the regular-season.
Prediction
The Falcons have been disgustingly bad in the preseason under Dan Quinn, and not just this year. They’re 0-4 in their four exhibition games in 2019, losing 14-10 to the Broncos in the Hall of Fame game, 34-27 to the Dolphins in Week 1 of the preseason, 22-10 to the Jets in Week 2 and 19-7 to the Redskins last week. Atlanta was also 0-4 in preseason play in 2018 and 0-4 in exhibition play in 2017 as well. You would have to go all the way back to 2016 for the Falcons’ last win in preseason play, which ironically came against the Jaguars in a 17-15 victory on September 1 of that year. Even though Atlanta’s last preseason victory came against Jacksonville, I’ll lay the points with the Jags tonight. Clearly Quinn and his coaching staff doesn’t put much value in winning in the preseason – nor should they – and the Jags laying four looks like the best play on the board tonight.
