NFL Passing Yards Prop Pick
Drew Brees is favored to lead the NFL in passing this upcoming season but is there a better value on the board?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Brees is a 5/1 favorite to lead the NFL in passing yards in the 2016-17 NFL season. Ben Roethlisberger has the next-best odds at 6/1, while Phillip Rivers is 7/1 and Matt Ryan is 9/1. Eli Manning is also 9/1, while Aaron Rodgers is 10/1 and Carson Palmer is 11/1.
Continuing with the odds, Andrew Luck is 12/1 to lead the NFL in passing yards this season while Matt Stafford is 16/1. Kirk COusins and Derek Carr are both 25/1, repsectively, while Joe Flacco, Andy Dalton, Blake Bortles and Tony Romo are all 33/1, espectively. Ryan Tannehill, Brock Osweiler and Jay Cutler are all 40/1, respectively.
Some of the mid-range long shots are Tom Brady, Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston and Cam Newton, who are all 50/1, respectively. The true long shots are Marcus Mariota, Sam Bradford, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Teddy Bridgewater, Tyrod Taylor and Alex Smith, who are all 75/1, respectively. The two quarterbacks with the longest odds to lead the league in passing yards are Robert Griffin III and Jared Goff, who are both 100/1, respectively.
OUR PICK: When it comes to projecting which signal-caller will lead the NFL in passing yards this season, is there a better value than Brees? No. He should throw for at least 4,900 yards and no other quarterback will come close to that amount. Roethlisberger should throw for 4,770-plus yards and Ryan is capable of throwing for over 4,600 yards, but if Brees stays healthy then he will lead the NFL in passing.
