NFL Week 5 Point Spreads
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – With key matchups in New England and Carolina this week, here’s a look at the opening odds for Week 5 in the NFL.
Week 5 in the NFL gets kicked off on Thursday night when the Packers host the Vikings at 8:25PM ET. According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Packers have opened as 9.5-point favorites despite the fact that the Vikings are coming off an impressive thumping of the Falcons last week at home. In that game, rookie Teddy Bridgewater carved Atlanta’s defense up in his first NFL start.
On Sunday the Panthers will host the Bears and despite Carolina opening as a 3-point home favorite, the line in that game is already down to 2.5 at some Vegas sports books. The total, meanwhile, is currently sitting at 45.5 points.
Also on Sunday, the Titans are 1.5-point favorites versus the visiting Browns after the line opened at Tennessee -3. The Eagles are also 7-point favorites over the Rams after the number opened at 8.5, while the Giants went from 1.5-point home favorites up to 4.5-point home favorites against the Falcons, who look like a completely different team on the road than at home this year.
This week’s Sunday night matchup figures to be a good one as the Patriots will host the Bengals at 8:30PM ET. New England opened as 1.5-point favorites before the line was bet up to 2, while the total is currently sitting at 47 points. The Seahawks are also 7-point road favorites versus the Redskins in the Monday Night Football matchup.
