Rams vs. Bucs Odds
TAMPA, FL (The Spread) – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the St. Louis Rams are each looking to pick up their first win of the season on Sunday when they meet at 4:05PM ET on FOX.
St. Louis suffered a 34-6 loss at home to the Vikings despite being a 3-point favorite. The Bucs lost 20-14 at home to Carolina despite being favored by 5.5 points. The home team has won five of the last six in this series.
Trends show that the underdog is 6-2-1 against the spread in the last 9 meetings between these two. They have also went under the point total in four straight meetings overall and four straight meetings in Tampa Bay.
According to oddsmakers from BetDSI, Tampa Bay is the favorite at home, as the Bucs have odds of -6 points against the Rams on Sunday. The over/under total for the game has been set at 37 points (View Matchup). The opening odds for this game had the Bucs favored by 3.5 points. The spread grew quickly and even hit 7 points before falling back to 6. The over/under total opened at 38 points and then steadily dropped to 37.
The Bucs lost to the Panthers at home and Carolina didn’t even have Cam Newton playing in the game. Tampa gave up 334 yards of offense to the Panthers while the offense had just 264 yards, including only 162 passing yards. New quarterback Josh McCown was 22 of 35 passing for 183 yards and two touchdowns, but also had two interceptions. Doug Martin rushed for just nine yards on nine carries before getting hurt. He is questionable for this game as well. LaVonte David led the defense with 10 tackles and two tackles for loss.
St. Louis had arguably the worst showing of the first week, getting dominated by Minnesota at home. The Rams allowed 355 yards to the Vikings while amassing just 318 yards of offense on its own. They had two turnovers in the game as well. Shaun Hill started the game and was 8 of 13 for 81 yards before getting hurt with a leg injury. He is questionable for Sunday’s game as well. Austin Davis then had to step in and was 16 of 23 passing for 192 yards. Brian Quick led the offense with seven receptions for 99 yards. The defense lost Chris Long until November with an ankle injury as well.
In terms of Injuries, St. Louis tackle Rodger Saffold (neck) is questionable for this game with a neck injury. Tampa Bay defensive end William Gholston (shoulder) and guard Logan Mankins (knee) are questionable.
