Falcons vs. Bengals Odds
CINCINNATI, OH (The Spread) – The Atlanta Falcons and Cincinnati Bengals are each looking for a 2-0 start on Sunday when they meet at 1PM ET on CBS.
The Bengals are coming off a 23-16 win at Baltimore last week despite being a 1-point underdog. The Falcons picked up a 37-34 OT win at home against the Saints, but were 3-point underdogs entering the game. Atlanta has won its last three against Cincinnati, covering the spread in all three wins.
Trends are strong for both teams, as Atlanta has covered the spread in 6 of its last 7 and five straight Week-2 games. Cincinnati is 9-1 against the spread in its last 10 home games. The Bengals have also went over the over/under total in five of its last six at home.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Cincinnati is the clear favorite at home, as the Bengals have odds of -5 points against the Falcons. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 48.5 points (View Matchup). The opening odds for this game had Cincinnati favored by 4 points. The spread climbed to a high of 7 points during the week before falling back to 5. The over/under total opened at 48 points and simply added the hook.
The Falcons had quite a game with New Orleans last week, with the two teams combining for over 1,000 yards of offense. Atlanta posted 568 yards of offense, with 445 yards coming in the air. Matt Ryan went 31 of 43 passing for 448 yards with three touchdowns. Julio Jones was the top target, catching seven passes for 116 yards.
The Bengals took a 15-0 lead on Baltimore in the first half, but found itself trailing 16-15 in the fourth quarter before Andy Dalton hit A.J. Green on a 77-yard touchdown pass to secure the win. Cincinnati finished with 380 yards of offense in the win, but the defense allowed 420 yards and has some key injuries to the starting lineup. Dalton finished with 301 yards passing and a touchdown in the win while Green had six catches for 131 yards.
In terms of Injuries, Atlanta tackle Jake Matthews (ankle) is questionable for the game, as is safety Dezmen Southward (concussion). Cincinnati cornerback Darqueze Dennard (hip) and tackle Andre Smith (concussion) are also questionable. Linebacker Vontaze Burfict is out with a concussion.
