Tennessee was just 7-9 in 2013 and the Titans decided to bring in a new coach for this year, hiring Ken Whisenhunt. The Chiefs have won their last two against the Titans, but the road team has won four of the last five in this series.
Trends show that the road team has covered the spread in five of the last six in this series and the two have hit the over in their last five meetings. The Chiefs enter this game having failed to cover the spread in five straight home games.

The over/under total for the game has been set at 43 points (View Matchup). The opening odds for this game had Kansas City favored by 5.5 points. The spread hit a peak of 6 points before falling to a low of 3. The over/under total opened at 44 points and slowly worked its way down to 43.
Kansas City is coming off a surprising season thanks to a defense that stepped up and an offense that was consistent. The Chiefs had the 10th best rushing offense behind Jamaal Charles, who rushed for 1,287 yards and also led the team in receiving. Alex Smith threw for 3,313 yards and 23 touchdowns in his first season with the team and got a big new contract for his efforts. Defensively, KC was led by Tamba Hali and Justin Houston, who each had 11 sacks.
Tennessee averaged just 336 yards per game on offense, but those numbers should improve under Whisenhunt. Jake Locker missed a lot of time last season to injury, but was showing growth. The team let go of Chris Johnson at running back, but drafted Bishop Sankey to handle the load. Defensively, the Titans were led by Jurrell Casey, who had a team high 10.5 sacks.
In terms of Injuries, Kansas City linebacker Tamba Hali (knee) and offensive lineman Eric Kush (wrist) are both questionable for this game. Tennessee running back Jackie Battle (shoulder) and defensive tackle Mike Martin (hamstring) are also questionable.
