Steelers vs. Ravens Odds
BALTIMORE, MD (The Spread) – The Baltimore Ravens will hope a week of distractions won’t impact it tonight when they host the Pittsburgh Steelers at 8:25PM ET on CBS.
Baltimore opened the season with a 23-16 loss at home to the Bengals despite being a 1-point favorite. Now, Baltimore has dealt with the Ray Rice situation, terminating his contract following the release of his domestic incident with his fiancée on tape. Pittsburgh picked up a 30-27 win over Cleveland at home on Sunday, but was a 5.5-point favorite. The home team won both meetings last year.
Trends show that the Steelers are 3-0-1 against the spread in their last four against the Ravens and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 trips to Baltimore. These two have also hit the over in 5 of their last 7 meetings.
According to oddsmakers from BetDSI, Baltimore is the slight favorite in this game, as the Ravens are getting odds of -2.5 points against the Steelers. The over/under total for the game has been set at 44.5 points (View Matchup). The opening odds for this game had Baltimore favored by 2.5 points as well and hasn’t changed. The over/under total opened at 43.5 points and slowly worked up to 44.5.
When it comes to on-the-field issues, the Ravens struggled on Sunday against the Bengals, giving up 420 yards of offense while producing just 79 rushing yards as a team. Joe Flacco had 345 passing yards in the loss, but had to attempt 62 passes, which isn’t a good sign this early. Justin Forsett rushed for 70 yards on 11 carries to lead the run game. Steve Smith added seven receptions for 118 yards and a touchdown to help Baltimore move the ball.
Pittsburgh looked like it was on its way to a blowout win over Cleveland, as it had a 27-3 lead at halftime. But, the Browns rallied to tie the game at 27-27 in the fourth before the Steelers hit a game-winning field goal as time expired. Pittsburgh amassed 490 yards of offense in the win, led by Ben Roethlisberger who went 23 of 34 passing for 365 yards and a touchdown. Le’Veon Bell added 109 rushing yards and a touchdown while Antonio Brown caught five passes for 116 yards and a score.
In terms of Injuries, Baltimore cornerback Lardarius Webb is probable despite a back injury. Pittsburgh center Cody Wallace (hamstring) and running back Dri Archer (ankle) are both questionable.
