According to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com, the Falcons are 2-point favorites over the Packers on Saturday. The over/under total for this game is currently 44 points.

These two teams met earlier this season, as the Falcons beat the Packers 20-17 as a 2.5-point favorite. The combined score well under the posted total of 47 points, as oddsmakers expected the game to be a shootout.

The Packers are 1-5 against the spread in the last six meetings between these two teams, but the underdog is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings. The road team is also 5-1 ATS in the last six games between these two teams, so there are a couple of trends that really favor Green Bay.

Some trends that favor the Falcons: They’re 7-1 ATS in their last eight games as a favorite and 7-1 ATS in their last games overall. They’re also 6-1 ATS in their last seven versus the NFC and 7-1 ATS in their last eight games following a straight up win of more than 14 points.

As far as the total is concerned, these two teams couldn’t be more contrasting. The under is 8-1 in the Packers’ last nine road games, but the over is 7-2-2 in the Falcons’ last 11 games overall. The under is 4-1 in the Packers’ last five games as a road underdog, but the over is 6-0 in the Falcons’ last six Saturday games.

One thing to keep in mind when it comes to the total is that the Falcons will want to keep the ball on the ground with Michael Turner and limit Aaron Rodgers’ chances to move the Packers’ potent offense down the field. Atlanta has a methodical, ball-controlled offense, which may work well with the under. Of course, they also average 26.8 points per game at home, so…more contradiction!
