NEW ORLEANS (AP) -There’s only one unbeaten team in the Sugar Bowl, and it’s not the one everybody’s talking about.
Although Cincinnati is 12-0 and the champion of the Big East, the Bearcats have been largely overshadowed by the focus on Tim Tebow’s last college game and Urban Meyer’s retirement-turned-indefinite leave.
Cincinnati receiver Mardy Gilyard says he understands why the Florida Gators are attracting most of the attention in New Orleans. Gilyard says the Gators have an extraordinary team and a proud history, including two national titles in the past four seasons.
Gilyard says the Bearcats will have to earn their way into the limelight by beating Florida on Friday, much like Utah did a year earlier against Alabama.
