TULSA, Okla. (AP) -Tulsa accepted a berth in the GMAC Bowl against Bowling Green after its loss in the Conference USA championship game on Saturday.
The Golden Hurricane (9-4) will be making their fourth bowl appearance in the past five years after playing in only three bowl games in the previous 37 years. The game will be played on Jan. 6 in Mobile, Ala., the day before the Bowl Championship Series title game.
“We’re very excited about going to the GMAC Bowl. We think it’s a great bowl and an opportunity on Jan. 6 to be the last bowl,” said first-year Tulsa coach Todd Graham. “It’s great national exposure for our program and playing a great opponent in Bowling Green.”
Tulsa could tie the school record of 10 wins with a win against the Falcons (8-4).
