COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -Arkansas tailback Michael Smith, the Southeastern Conference’s leading rusher, hurt his shoulder and was not expected to return against South Carolina.
Smith came in averaging more than 123 yards, tops in the SEC.
His last gain was for 5 yards with less than two minutes left before the half. Smith appeared to get up slowly.
Smith had been bothered by a sore shoulder coming into the game, according to Arkansas.
Smith left with 25 yards on seven carries.
