PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) -Paralyzed Rutgers football player Eric LeGrand has been transferred to a rehabilitation center after being hospitalized with a high fever.
The university says the 20-year-old defensive tackle was sent back to Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in West Orange on Monday afternoon. The junior from Avenel was admitted to Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston on Thursday with a fever.
LeGrand was paralyzed from the neck down on Oct. 16, making a tackle on a kickoff return against Army in a game at the New Meadowlands Stadium. He was treated at Hackensack University Medical Center for a little more than two weeks before transferring to Kessler, one of the nation’s leaders in spinal cord rehabilitation.
