CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) -Miami is in position to do something no major college football team has done in nine years.
Unless there’s some substantial shifting in polls over the next month, the Hurricanes will become only the third team in at least the last 15 seasons to open with four consecutive opponents ranked in the AP Top 25.
When Notre Dame did it nine years ago, Irish officials said they could only find one other instance of such a schedule abnormality – and that was Central Florida doing it the previous season.
The arduous opening stretch for Miami starts next Monday at No. 18 Florida State.
