MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – Minnesota coach Jerry Kill has been released from the hospital, five days after he was stricken with a seizure on the sideline at the end of a Gophers game.
Team physician Dr. Pat Smith said in a statement distributed by the university that Kill was discharged during the lunch hour Thursday and went home to rest.
Smith says Kill “is in good spirits and eager to get back to work” without restrictions, free to return to work “when he feels up to it.”
The doctor would not confirm whether Kill will be at TCF Bank Stadium to coach Minnesota’s game on Saturday against Miami of Ohio. Smith says that decision is up to the coach.
Gophers coaches and players won’t be available for comment until after the game.
