M’s Leroy Vann returned a punt 81 yards for a first-quarter touchdown to highlight the East’s 26-21 win over the West in the inaugural HBCU Bowl all-star game Saturday.
Vann, who returned five punts for touchdowns this season, won the game’s most valuable player honors.
West quarterback Tim Buckley of Alcorn State had two touchdowns passing.

The East took a 19-14 lead late in the second quarter on a 33-yard pass from Norfolk State’s Dennis Brown to Hampton’s Lamarcus Coker.
