ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) -TCU quarterback Andy Dalton left midway through the second quarter of Saturday’s game at New Mexico after going to the turf on a sack.
TCU officials had no immediate word on his condition.
Dalton, the nation’s active quarterback leader with 40 victories, was setting up to pass when he was hit by New Mexico defensive end Jacori Greer. Dalton fumbled, and linebacker Joe Stoner picked up the ball and returned it 36 yards to the 1.
Dalton was examined by trainers, who appeared to be looking at his right forearm. Moments later, he was up and cheering his teammates.
Lobos quarterback Stump Godfrey scored two plays after the sack, trimming TCU’s lead to 31-17 with 8:57 before halftime.
Reserve quarterback Yogi Galllegos took over on the next series for TCU.
