WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) -Kurvin Curry passed for two touchdowns to help Savannah State beat Winston-Salem 16-13 on Saturday night.
Curry threw for 154 yards for the Tigers (2-1), including a 39-yard touchdown pass to Armond Denson in the second quarter to tie the game at 7-7.
The Rams (0-2) pulled ahead 13-9 with 2:37 left in the third on a 23-yard run by Nicolas Cooper, who finished with 144 yards on 21 carries. He also had a 15-yard scoring run in the second quarter.
But Curry’s 19-yard touchdown pass to Chris Bush put Savannah State ahead for good with 13:24 remaining in the game.
Justin Babb led the Tigers with 76 yards rushing on 15 carries and one touchdown.
Tienn Jefferson completed seven passes for 87 yards and threw two interceptions for Winston-Salem.
