CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) -Clemson tailback C.J. Spiller was injured in the second quarter against Middle Tennessee and was not expected to return.
Clemson athletic spokesman Tim Bourret did not know what Spiller’s injury was but said it was not considered serious. After a 50-yard punt return, it appeared that Spiller came up limping and played only a few snaps after that play.
Spiller opened the game with a 96-yard kickoff return touchdown. He looked on his way to a second return score, going 50 yards with a Blue Raiders punt when he was caught from behind and appeared to come up in some discomfort.
He jogged to the locker room with about 3 minutes left in the first half and did not return until after the third-quarter kickoff.
