CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) – Classes began Wednesday at Miami, where students are wondering what will happen to the Hurricanes’ scandal-ridden football program.
Team officials have not yet released the team’s depth chart for the Sept. 5 opener at Maryland. When that list comes out, it’ll provide some new hints on the state of the investigation into allegations that at least a dozen current players accepted cash or other benefits from convicted Ponzi scheme architect Nevin Shapiro.
Some students wore orange clothing to class Wednesday in a show of support. Running back Lamar Miller walked around campus in a bright orange T-shirt.
The team resumes practice Thursday, when coach Al Golden is expected to say something about the state of the depth chart. Until then, everybody waits.
