COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -Ohio State coach Jim Tressel says his 13th-ranked Buckeyes haven’t necessarily gotten over the loss to Southern California but can’t dwell on it any longer.
The Buckeyes host Illinois in the Big Ten opener on Saturday. The Illini have dominated recently in Ohio Stadium, winning seven of the last 10 meetings.
Tressel says the Buckeyes need to be at their best because Illinois has as much talent as any team in the conference.
Ohio State dropped an 18-15 decision at home to USC on Sept. 12. The Buckeyes bounced back with a 38-0 victory over Toledo last Saturday while the Trojans were upset by Washington, 16-13.
Illinois (1-1) was humiliated 37-9 by Missouri before beating Illinois State 45-17. The Illini had last week off.
