BOISE, Idaho (AP) – Boise State coach Chris Petersen is hoping Kyle Brotzman’s leg will be healthy enough for him to resume his kicking and punting duties in time for Saturday’s matchup with Hawaii.
Brotzman and his sore kicking leg have been on rest and rehabilitation for nearly three weeks. Petersen declines to share details of the injury and says the senior’s status is day-to-day.
The No. 2 Broncos missed their kicking ace last week.
Backup kicker Jimmy Pavel missed a 30-yard field goal attempt on the game’s opening drive. The punting game averaged 39 yards on three kicks, but that figure is offset by a 53-yard touchback by quarterback Kellen Moore.
Brotzman’s 60 career field goals make him Boise State’s all-time leader.
