Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer isn’t buying the idea that his No. 13 Hokies need only to show up on Saturday to be able to pencil in a victory against James Madison.
The Hokies coach says the first week of the season showed how dangerous teams in the Football Championship Subdivision can be, even to a power school in a BCS conference.
He cited Jacksonville State’s victory against Mississippi last week.
The Hokies (0-1) are coming off a sloppy 33-30 loss to No. 3 Boise State on Monday night, while the Dukes (1-0) dominated on defense and thrashed Morehead State 48-7 in their opener.
The Hokies also have a quick turnaround, but wide receiver Danny Coale says the best way for them to put their disappointment aside is to play again, and play well.
