Ohio State winning with ease
The Ohio State football team continued its dominant run in 2019 last Friday with a 52-3 win at Northwestern. The Buckeyes are now 7-0 on the season, 4-0 in the Big Ten, 6-1 against the spread and 3-3-1 with the over/under total.
Like Wisconsin, Ohio State has been one of the best in the nation defensively. The Buckeyes are giving up just 8.0 points and 229.6 yards per game this year. The unit is being led by Chase Young, who has 23 tackles with 9.5 sacks. On offense, Ohio State is also one of the best in the country. The Buckeyes are averaging 49.7 points and 527.1 yards per contest. J.K. Dobbins has rushed for 947 yards and seven touchdowns to lead the offense while Justin Fields has thrown for 1,492 yards and 22 touchdowns while also rushing for 291 yards and eight scores.
Wisconsin caught looking ahead
Wisconsin was clearly caught looking ahead to this week’s game on Saturday, as the Badgers were stunned at Illinois, suffering a 24-23 loss on the road. Wisconsin is now 6-1 on the season, 3-1 in the Big Ten, 5-2 against the spread and 5-2 with the under.
The Badgers lead the nation in almost every defensive category this year, as they are giving up just 7.6 points and 196.3 yards per game. Chris Orr is leading the defense with 38 tackles and eight sacks. Offensively, Wisconsin is putting up 39.7 points and 444.1 yards per contest. Jonathan Taylor is leading the Wisconsin offense with 957 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns while Jack Coan has thrown for 1,383 yards and nine scores.
College Football Betting Trends
Ohio State
Ohio State has covered the spread in six straight conference games and in eight straight against a winning team.
Wisconsin
The Badgers have covered in four straight against winning teams and they are 14-5 ATS int heir last 19 road games.
Prediction:
Ohio State has won six straight in this series and the Buckeyes are 4-1-1 against the spread in those six games. Rain is expected for today, but I don’t think that will be a problem for Ohio State. The Buckeyes want to control the line of scrimmage on offense and defense and I think they can do that in rain just fine. The Buckeyes may be a little less explosive, but I think they can give Wisconsin something that the Badgers haven’t seen. This Ohio State team looks really legit and the Badgers obviously showed some serious flaws last weekend.
