West Virginia beat up at home

West Virginia is coming off a 38-14 loss at home to Iowa State this past weekend for a second straight loss. The Mountaineers are now 3-3 on the season, 1-2 in the Big 12, 2-3-1 against the spread and 3-3 with the over/under total.

WVU has struggled on offense this year, averaging 24.2 points and 326.2 yards per game. Defensively, the Mountaineers are giving up 30.3 points and 383.8 yards per contest. The team has a big concern this week as QB Austin Kendall is dealing with a chest injury and questionable to play on Saturday. Kendall has thrown for 1,247 yards and nine touchdowns this year. Sam James is the leading receiver with 37 catches and 359 yards and two touchdowns. Kennedy McKoy is the team’s leading rusher with 187 yards and three scores.

Oklahoma bests Texas

The Oklahoma Sooners are coming off a 34-27 win at Texas last weekend to stay unbeaten. The Sooners are 6-0 on the season, 3-0 in the Big 12, 3-3 against the spread and 3-2-1 with the under.

Oklahoma has the nation’s top offense in terms of yards. The Sooners are averaging 50.2 points and 621.7 yards per game this year. The defense is allowing just 20.3 points and 341.8 yards per outing. Jalen Hurts has thrown for 1,758 yards and 17 touchdowns while rushing for 630 yards and eight scores. Three other Sooners have over 300 rushing yards as well. CeeDee Lamb is the team’s leading receiver with 28 catches for 610 yards and 10 touchdowns.

College Football Betting Trends

West Virginia

The Mountaineers are just 7-19 against the spread in their last 26 October games and 1-4-1 ATS in their last six road games.

Oklahoma

The Sooners are 17-8 against the spread in their last 25 home games, but just 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight conference games.

Prediction:

Oklahoma has dominated this series, winning seven straight while going 4-0-1 against the spread in the last five against the Mountaineers. After an emotional win over Texas, there is a chance for a letdown from the Sooners this week. However, Oklahoma will be at home and facing a bad WVU defense. The Sooners should be able to run right through this defense. West Virginia also could be without their starting quarterback, making it very difficult for the Mountaineers to keep any pace with this Oklahoma offense.

College Football Week 8 Prediction: Oklahoma -33.5
