Washington Huskies Game Notes
Washington redshirt freshman QB Dylan Morris completed 20-of-30 passes for 184 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Saturday’s 24-17 loss against UCLA. Morris (6’0/200) was able to run for a touchdown, but his two interceptions are what has irked fans. He now leads the Pac-12 conference with eight interceptions, including one with five minutes to go to seal the win for UCLA. HC Jimmy Lake committed to Morris as his starter going forward, saying no change is imminent. “Not at this point, I do not,” Lake said. “We’ve got to watch the film and see how it exactly went down. Interceptions aren’t always on the quarterback.” Morris will look for improvement Friday night at Arizona.
Arizona Wildcats Game Notes
Arizona redshirt freshman QB Gunner Cruz (thumb) is out for the year, will need surgery. It’s not surprising, as this was the expected outcome, but it has now been confirmed by head coach Jedd Fisch. Cruz (6’5/224) will need at least six months to recover from thumb surgery. Will Plummer will take over the starting role for the Wildcats in a season to forget.
