According to the latest oddsmakers, USC is now the favorite on the road, as the Trojans are getting odds of -2.5 points against Arizona State. The over/under total is listed at 55.5 points. The public betting currently has 62 percent going on Arizona State as the home underdog. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NCAAF Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.
ASU drops back-to-back games
Arizona State was once ranked, but the Sun Devils have lost two straight road games to Utah and UCLA to fall to 5-3 on the season. The Sun Devils are just 2-3 in the Pac-12, 3-5 against the spread and 5-3 with the under this year.
ASU doesn’t have a great offense this season, averaging only 23.4 points and 366.9 yards per game. Defensively, the Sun Devils are giving up 21.1 points and 357.8 yards per game. Jayden Daniels is leading the Sun Devils this year with 1,902 passing yards and 11 touchdowns, while also rushing for 273 yards and three scores. Eno Benjamin is the team’s leading rusher with 679 yards and seven touchdowns while Brandon Aiyuk is the leading receiver with 38 receptions for 740 yards and five scores.
Trojans thrashed by the Ducks
USC was on a two-game win streak, but the Trojans are coming off a 56-24 loss at home to Oregon last week. That loss dropped USC to 5-4 on the season, 4-2 in the Pac-12, 4-5 against the spread and 5-4 with the under.
The Trojans are a respectable offensive team this year, averaging 30.4 points and 432.7 yards per game. Defensively, USC is giving up 28.3 points and 426.8 yards per contest. Kedon Slovis has thrown for 1,889 yards and 16 touchdowns to lead the offense while Michael Pittman Jr. has 58 catches for 792 yards and eight touchdowns. Vavae Malepeai remains the leading rusher with 406 yards, but he has been out with a knee injury for multiple weeks.
College Football Betting Trends
Arizona State
Arizona State is 10-3 with the over following a bye week and 9-4 with the over in their last 13 games in November.
USC
The Trojans are 5-2 with the under in their last seven games overall and 4-0 with the under in their last four following a loss.
Prediction:
These two have hit the over in their last two meetings and in six of their last nine encounters. Arizona State seems to be somewhat capped on what they can do offensively. The Sun Devils have scored under 20 points three times this year and struggle to find much offensive consistency. USC has the offensive consistency, but their defense has been questionable at times. I think that will be okay today at home, especially coming off a bad performance against Oregon. The Trojans should be motivated today and get stops against an average ASU offense. I think the Sun Devils will also do enough with its defense to limit the USC offense and keep this game competitive.
