Texas Longhorns Game Notes
Texas senior QB Sam Ehlinger has accepted an invitation to the Reese’s Senior Bowl. Ehlinger (6’3/225) will leave Austin as one of Texas’ best quarterbacks when it comes to his individual numbers. In four seasons he completed 62.5 percent of his passes, throwing for 11,276 yards and 93 touchdowns with 27 interceptions. Ehlinger was also productive on the ground, rushing for 1,912 yards and 33 touchdowns during his Longhorn career. He will likely be a Day 3 selection in this spring’s draft, as the quarterback class projects to be quite deep.
Colorado Buffaloes Game Notes
Colorado redshirt freshman WR La’Vontae Shenault has been suspended for the Buffaloes’ Alamo Bowl matchup with Texas. Shenault (6’2/190) was suspended to a violation of athletic department policies, HC Karl Dorrell announced on Monday. The redshirt freshman appeared in four games for the Buffaloes this season, catching a team-best 17 passes for 193 yards. Shenault will look to have a greater impact for Colorado in 2021.
