Texas A&M Aggies Game Notes
Texas A&M senior QB Kellen Mond completed 18-of-23 passes for 196 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday’s 31-20 victory over Auburn. Mond (6’3/217) added 60 yards and a touchdown on the ground in his most efficient big-game spot since the upset win over Florida earlier this season. Mond completed 78.3% of his passes for 8.5 YPA while setting a season-high for rushing yards. He showed particular chemistry with ascending TE Jalen Wydermyer, who finished with a 8-89-2 line. Mond recently accepted an invite to the Senior Bowl, where we think he’ll be vying for Day 2 positioning this spring. The 7-1 Aggies will try to keep their flickering playoff hopes alive against Ole Miss next week.
Tennessee Vols Game Notes
Tennessee freshman QB Harrison Bailey completed 14-of-18 passes for 207 yards and two touchdowns in a 42-17 victory over Vanderbilt this Saturday. The Tennessee quarterback situation has been among the most unsettled groups in the country, as Bailey (6’4/224) and JT Shrout both saw significant reps in the game. For his part Shrout completed six-of-13 passes for 90 yards and two touchdowns, so both signal callers had varying degrees of success against Vandy, though the freshman certainly looked better. Bailey’s best pass came on a 74-yard bomb to Velus Jones in the fourth quarter, as Vanderbilt’s beleaguered defense had no answer for the Volunteers passing attack that accrued 328 yards while averaging 10.3 yards per pass on the day. UT finishes off their regular season schedule next Saturday against Texas A&M.
Missouri vs. Tennessee Betting Prediction
The under is 6-1 in the Aggies’ last seven games as a road favorite, is 7-2 in their last nine road games and is 15-6 in their last 21 games after allowing less than 170 yards passing in their previous contest. On the other side, the under is 7-0 in the Volunteers’ last seven home games, is 5-1 in their last six games overall and has cashed in five of their last six games as an underdog. The under is also 8-1 in Tennessee’s last nine games coming off a win.
