Arkansas needs a bounce back
Arkansas hasn’t looked very good this season despite a 2-2 record. The Razorbacks are coming off a 31-24 loss at home to San Jose State last weekend. They are 0-1 in the SEC, 1-3 against the spread and 3-1 with the under.
The Razorbacks are putting up 29 points and 440.8 yards per game on offense this season while giving up 27.3 points and 410.3 yards per game on defense. Rakeem Boyd has rushed for 394 yards and three touchdowns to lead the offense. Quarterback Nick Starkel has added 910 yards passing with seven touchdowns, but also has six interceptions. Trey Knox is the leading receiver with 21 catches for 299 yards and two touchdowns. Kamren Curl is leading the defense with 27 tackles, two sacks and two interceptions.
Aggies edged by Auburn
Texas A&M had its offense come up short for the second time this season in a 28-20 loss at home to Auburn last weekend. The Aggies are now 2-2 on the season, 0-1 in the SEC, 3-1 against the spread and 2-2 with the over/under total.
A&M still has good numbers for the season on offense, averaging 33.3 points and 447.8 yards per game, but those have dropped significantly against respectable teams. Defensively, A&M is allowing just 15.5 points and 276 yards per contest. Kellen Mond has thrown for 1,082 yards and seven touchdowns to lead the team this season while Isaiah Spiller is the leading rusher with 255 yards and two scores. Jhamon Ausbon is the leading receiver with 25 catches for 364 yards and two touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Arkansas
Arkansas is 8-1 with the under in their last nine games following a failed cover and 6-1 with the under in their last seven games in September.
Texas A&M
The Aggies are 5-1 with the over in their last six games on a neutral field and 8-2 with the over in their last 10 games following a failed cover.
Prediction:
These two have bounced around with the total in previous meetings, but I like the under today. The Aggies have a strong defense that should set the tone in this game. Arkansas just can’t be relied upon to score consistently in this game. The Razorbacks don’t have a bad defense either, so I think they will pose some issues for the Texas A&M offense. The Aggies have not looked good moving the ball against power five programs thus far.
College Football Week 5 Prediction: Texas A&M/Arkansas Under 57.5
