TCU vs. West Virginia Total Prediction
The TCU Horned Frogs continue to struggle offensively and they’ll need their defense to step up once again as they take on the West Virginia Mountaineers at 12:00 p.m. ET on Saturday. Is the betting total set too high for this Big 12 matchup?

Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Mountaineers are 12.5-point favorites to beat the Horned Frogs. The total, meanwhile, sits at 56 points. As of this writing, 64% of the public betting tickets wagered on this matchup are on the Mountaineers.
TCU Horned Frogs
TCU sophomore QB Michael Collins completed 23-of-33 passes for 351 yards, a touchdown and an interception and ran for 33 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday’s 27-26 loss to Kansas. This was Collins’ first start following Shawn Robinson’s season-ending shoulder injury. He wasn’t terrible, but he and his team did fritter this thing away with a 2-0 turnover disadvantage and some poor situational plays. Still, Collins averaged over 10 yards per attempt and did some damage on the ground. He may turn out to not be a downgrade on Shawn Robinson.
West Virginia Mountaineers
West Virginia senior QB Will Grier completed 28-of-42 passes for 346 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday’s 42-41 win over Texas. Grier (6’2/223) and the Mountaineers kept pace in the wild shootout affair — the teams combined for 1,098 yards of total offense — but it looked like their fine efforts might fall just short after Texas scored a touchdown to go up 41-34 with just 2:34 remaining in the fourth quarter. The senior gunslinger then proceeded to lead WVU to glory on the team’s subsequent drive, hitting Gary Jennings on a beautiful, perfectly thrown 33-yard touchdown down the middle of the end zone to pull to within one. Rather than try for the game-tying extra point, they instead went for the go-ahead two-point conversation — and notched it. Just a thrilling game. One thing to note moving forward, Grier was dealing with a leg injury during the contest. We will monitor that during the upcoming practice week. The Mountaineers will look to lay a crooked number on a listless TCU squad next weekend.
Betting Trends
TCU
The under is 4-0 in the Horned Frogs’ last four road games versus an opponent with a winning home record.
West Virginia
The under is also 7-1 in the Mountaineers’ last eight games after allowing more than 40 points in their previous contest.
Prediction
The under is a perfect 4-0 in the last four meetings and I see the under cashing again on Saturday when these two teams met. TCU is a mess offensively but Gary Patterson continues to put together quality defensive game plans and should have one for Grier and Dana Holgorsen this weekend. The under is 13-3 in the Horned Frogs’ last 16 road games, is 21-7 in their last 28 conference games and is 13-6 in their last 19 games overall. On the other side, the under is 5-2 in the Mountaineers’ last seven home games and WVU should have zero problems shutting down TCU’s offense.
College Football Prediction: TCU/West Virginia under 56
