Syracuse Orange Game Notes
According to Syracuse HC Dino Babers, redshirt senior QB Rex Culpepper has returned to practice and continues to improve after missing time with an undisclosed injury. Babers did not offer up much in the way of specifics regarding the injury that Culpepper (6’2/221) is working his way back from, or how involved the redshirt senior has been in recent practices. But the fact that he’s back on the field is a good sign. As for who will start Friday’s game at Louisville, it appears likely that freshman JaCobian Morgan will get the call. The coaching staff continues to add more to the plate of the freshman, who put forth a solid account of himself in the Orange’s November 7 loss to Boston College.
Louisville Cardinals Game Notes
Louisville junior WR Tutu Atwell is considered to be questionable for Friday’s game vs. Syracuse due to an undisclosed injury. Atwell (5’9/165) was not available for this past weekend’s loss at Virginia due to an undisclosed injury, but he is making progress towards a return. What doesn’t work in his favor is the schedule, as the Cardinals have a short week of preparation ahead of Friday’s game against Syracuse. Atwell is a dangerous playmaker in the passing game, as he has accounted for 40 receptions, 528 yards and five touchdowns this season. Getting Atwell back would give Louisville a much-needed boost, as leading rusher Javian Hawkins has opted out of the remainder of the season and will instead prepare for the 2021 NFL Draft.
