Rutgers Scarlet Knights Game Notes
Rutgers redshirt junior QB Noah Vedral went 22-for-28 for 145 yards and a touchdown in Saturday’s 17-7 victory over Syracuse. Vedral (6’1/195) is what he is: A low-ceiling game manager. He’s averaged 5.2 YPA through two games and thrown for only 283 yards and two TD, but very importantly has zero interceptions. With Rutgers’ defense overwhelming Temple and Syracuse, that’s been more than good enough, and it also shows a bit of forward progress. In seven games last year, Vedral threw for 1,253 yards with a 9/8 TD/INT rate. A 3-0 Rutgers start is likely with Delaware up next week.
Michigan Wolvers Game Notes
Michigan sophomore QB Cade McNamara completed 8-of-11 passes for 191 yards and a touchdown in a 63-10 win over Northern Illinois. Though McNamara (6’1/212) wasn’t asked to throw many passes he successfully orchestrated nine consecutive scoring drives to start the game. His best play was an 87-yard touchdown strike to Cornelius Johnson on a well timed double-move down the right sideline, which was also the longest TD pass of his career thus far. Though he has five-star freshman J.J. McCarthy looking over his shoulder, McNamara has done enough to keep the job heading into Michigan’s Big Ten opener against Rutgers next Saturday.
Rutgers vs. Michigan Betting Prediction
