Oregon Ducks Game Notes
Oregon head coach Mario Cristobal and the Ducks have been ranked fourth by the College Football Playoff Committee in their first rankings of the 2021 season. Sitting at 7-1 on the season with wins over Fresno State, Ohio State and UCLA, Cristobal and the Ducks caught the attention of the playoff committee to edge out teams like Cincinnati and Ohio State who were hoping to find themselves in the top-4 of the CFP rankings on Tuesday evening. Oregon has some impressive wins on the season, and has overcome adversity with the loss of running back CJ Verdell in Week 5 against Stanford. With a defense anchored by consensus no. 1 EDGE rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux, the Ducks have matchups against Washington, Washington State, Utah and Oregon State to close out its season.
Washington Huskies Game Notes
Washington redshirt freshman QB Dylan Morris completed 17-of-25 passes for 146 yards and a touchdown in Saturday’s 20-13 win at Stanford. Morris (6’0/200) didn’t put up eye-popping statistics, but he also didn’t have any miscues for the second consecutive game, leading the Huskies to the victory. The Huskies offensive line was able to keep him upright, too, as Saturday marked the first time he wasn’t sacked at least once in a game. HC Jimmy Lake committed to Morris as his starter after the UCLA game, and that commitment has paid off with back-to-back wins. Morris will look to make it three wins in a row next Saturday against Oregon.
