Oregon vs. Utah Prediction
Will Utah crush a struggling Oregon team today at 2:00PM ET when the two teams meet at Rice-Eccles Stadium?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Utes are 14-point home favorites over the Ducks after opening as a 10.5-point favorite. As for the total, the number hit the board at 75.5 but has been bet down nearly five full points to 70.

The Ducks haven’t lost eight games in a season since finishing 3-8 all the way back in 1991. Eight losses would match Oregon’s total from its first three seasons under Mark Helfrich, who went 33-8 over that span. The biggest problem this season for the Ducks has been a defense that is the second-worst scoring defense in the country, allowing 43.5 points per game. The only defense that has been worse this season has been Cal’s, with the Golden Bears allowing 45.6 per contest.

Utah is 27-9 over its last three seasons, which is 11th-best in the FBS and best of any Pac-12 team according to ESPN’s Stats & Info. That said, the Utes have struggled in November, going just 5-5 this month since 2014. Compare that to their 20-4 record from August through October and you get a sense of how much Utah’s play has dipped as the season reaches its final month.

OUR PREDICTION: The Utes should blow the doors of a Ducks team that seemingly gave up weeks ago. Utah is 4-1 against the spread in its last five games and is 6-1 in its last seven games after scoring more than 40 points in its previous game. Oregon, meanwhile, is 1-10-1 against the number in its last 12 games overall and just 1-7 at the betting window in its last eight conference games. Freshman quarterback Justin Herbert has had his moments this season but Rice-Eccles Stadium is one of the tougher environments to play in the Pac-12 and there’s no chance he and the Duck offense will be able to out-pace their own defense. Utah should roll.
