Oregon Ducks Game Notes
Oregon senior QB Anthony Brown completed 17-of-22 passes for 135 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Saturday’s 38-24 win over Washington State. Not only was Brown (6’3/226) accurate in the pass game, but he rolled up 123 rushing yards with a touchdown on 17 carries, leading all ball carriers. He never had more than 52 rushing yards in a single game in his four seasons with Boston College, but he has five games over that total this season. His previous career best for rushing yards in a game was Oct. 23 at UCLA, when he ran for 85 yards and a score. He obviously smashed that mark here. Next up is a trip to Utah next Saturday.
Utah Utes Game Notes
Utah sophomore QB Cameron Rising completed 19-of-30 passes for 294 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-29 victory over Arizona. Rising (6’2/220) was very efficient all day while finding chunk plays in the passing game. He had five passes that went for 20+ yards, but his most important pass of the day only went for two yards. With just two seconds left, Rising found TE Brant Kuithe for a two-yard touchdown that gave Utah a 21-17 lead going into halftime. It ended up being a crucial play by Rising, as the touchdown by Pledger ended up sealing the victory for the Utes instead of just going up by 5. Utah faces a tough test next week as they host Oregon.
