Oregon Ducks Game Notes
Oregon senior QB Anthony Brown completed 20-of-28 passes for 244 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions as Oregon defeated Cal 24-17 on Friday night. Things got good in this one late, after Cal took a 17-10 lead to start the fourth quarter. Brown (6’3/226) and the Ducks promptly responded with a scoring drive of their own that was capped when Brown connected with wide receiver Jaylon Redd on a beautifully thrown 20-yard touchdown catch over two defenders in the end zone to tie things up. On Oregon’s ensuing drive following a Cal punt, the Ducks drove down the field again, this time on an 11-yard rushing touchdown by Brown to put Cal up 24-17 late. That ended up being the game winner for Oregon (5-1), as Brown finished his evening with 13 carries for 44 yards and one rushing touchdown. Oregon now prepares for a road matchup next week against UCLA.
UCLA Bruins Game Notes
UCLA junior QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson completed 21-of-26 passes for 183 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Saturday’s 24-17 win at Washington. Thompson-Robinson (6’1/205) also rushed 12 times for 87 yards and a touchdown. But the biggest play for DTR came midway through the fourth quarter, hitting WR Greg Dulcich for a 9-yard score to go ahead 24-17, capping off an impressive 13-play, 90-yard drive. The 80.8 completion percentage was easily DTR’s best of the season, as his previous high-water mark was 65.6 percent in a loss to Arizona State Oct. 2. The Bruins are back in action against Oregon next Saturday at the Rose Bowl.
