Arizona State can’t get on track
Arizona State was once ranked, but the Sun Devils have lost four straight coming into this weekend, including a 35-34 loss at Oregon State last weekend. ASU is now 5-5 on the season, 2-5 in the Pac-12, 3-6-1 against the spread and 5-5 with the over/under total
ASU has been pretty good defensively despite their struggles with winning. The Sun Devils are giving up just 23.5 points and 380.4 yards per game. Offensively, Arizona State is averaging 24.7 points and 368.2 yards per game. Jayden Daniels has been leading the offensive unit with 2,236 passing yards and 14 touchdowns while also rushing for 247 yards and three scores. Eno Benjamin is leading the ground attack with 801 yards and eight touchdowns while Brandon Aiyuk has 53 catches for 964 yards and seven touchdowns.
Oregon staying in the title mix
The Oregon Ducks are coming off a 34-6 win at home over Arizona for a ninth consecutive victory. Oregon enters this week at 9-1 on the season, 7-0 in the Pac-12, 6-4 against the spread and 6-4 with the under.
Oregon has been strong on both sides of the ball this year, but the defense is really solid. The Ducks are giving up just 14.8 points and 308 yards per game this season. On offense, Oregon is putting up 37.8 points and 463.8 yards per contest. Justin Herbert is leading the team with 2,662 yards and 28 touchdowns passing with just three interceptions. Johnny Johnson III is his top receiver with 35 catches for 485 yards and three touchdowns. CJ Verdell is the leading rusher with 814 yards and five touchdowns, but is questionable to play tonight with a wrist injury.
College Football Betting Trends
Arizona State
Arizona State is 1-4-1 against the spread in their last six home games and 0-3-1 ATS in their last four conference games.
Oregon
The Ducks are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games in November and 22-8 ATS in their last 30 games on grass.
Prediction:
Oregon has won nine of its last 10 with ASU, but the Sun Devils have covered the spread in the last two meetings. To do that, Arizona State has had to score a combined 66 points in the two games. That kind of scoring won’t be happening tonight. Oregon’s defense has been the foundation of its season and the Ducks will be able to contain this limited ASU offense. The Ducks can still score as well, so covering this spread shouldn’t be a problem, though the Sun Devils are likely to put up a small fight defensively.
