Old Dominion Monarchs Game Notes
Old Dominion WR Ali Jennings III snagged nine balls for 252 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday’s 42-34 victory over Charlotte. Jennings (6’1/193) is only the most-recent player to take advantage of Charlotte’s awful pass defense. In fact, he’s the 11th receiver this season to set a new career-high in receiving yards against the 49ers. His big day improves ODU to 6-6.
Tulsa Golden Hurricane Game Notes
Tulsa redshirt junior QB Davis Brin completed 18-of-33 passes for 244 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in a 34-31 victory over SMU this Saturday. Brin (6’2/208) wasn’t amazing by any means, throwing a pair of interceptions while completing just 54 percent of his throws. However he came up with a big 32-yard touchdown throw to Josh Johnson with just :16 remaining in the first half to bring Tulsa within three points of the Mustangs and gave the team some momentum heading into the locker room. The Golden Hurricane then proceeded to score touchdowns on their first two possessions of the second half to give them a 28-17 lead they would never relinquish. It was an important upset win for Tulsa, as they now are bowl eligible with a 6-6 overall record.
