Oklahoma State Cowboys Game Notes
Oklahoma State redshirt junior QB Spender Sanders completed 16-of-34 passes for 270 yards, one touchdown and one interception in a 29-22 loss to TCU on Saturday. Sanders (6’1/205) added 30 rushing yards on 11 attempts. Coming out of high school, more was expected of Sanders. But it looks like this is just who he is, a passable dual-threat who doesn’t have the ability to elevate the games of those around him. After this game, his 2020 TD/INT ratio is a poor 7/6; over his career, it’s a mediocre 23/17. Considering the talent he’s played with, the system he’s played in, and his recruiting pedigree, that’s severely underwhelming. The 6-3 Pokes close out the regular season against Baylor next week.
Baylor Bears Game Notes
Baylor senior QB Charlie Brewer completed 30-of-56 passes for 263 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions and added a rushing score in a 27-14 loss to Oklahoma on Saturday. Brewer threw a lot, but for very little. The senior quarterback’s rushing touchdown came with a little over a minute left and had very little to do with the outcome of the game. The senior continues to battle, but there just isn’t enough talent on that side of the football for them to compete with the Oklahomas right now. Brewer gets one more game in a Bears’ uniform next Saturday against Oklahoma State.
