UNC ends skid
The North Carolina football team picked up its first win of the season this past weekend when it earned a 38-35 home victory over Pittsburgh. The Tar Heels are 1-1-1 against the spread and 2-1 with the over. UNC has hit the over in four of its last six, dating back to last season.
The Tar Heels are putting up 394 yards per game thus far while averaging 24.7 points per contest. Nathan Elliott has thrown for 669 yards and three touchdowns, but has four interceptions. Chazz Surratt returns from suspension and could see action after starting seven games last year. Antonio Williams is the leading rusher with 257 yards and three touchdowns on 39 carries while Anthony Ratliff-Williams has 11 catches for 230 yards and a touchdown.
Miami rolling
After a poor start to the season, losing 33-17 at LSU. Since then, Miami has won three straight by double figures. The Hurricanes are 2-2 against the spread while hitting the over in three of the four games. Dating back to their bowl game, Miami has hit the over in four of its last five.
The Hurricanes are playing very well on defense right now, allowing just 18.5 points and 223.8 yards per game. Their pass defense is among the best in the nation, giving up 145 yards per contest. Offensively, Miami is scoring 43.5 points per game while putting up 449.3 yards per game. Their run game is averaging over 200 yards per game. Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas have combined for over 500 rushing yards while Malik Rosier has thrown for 611 yards and five touchdowns. Jeff Thomas is the leading receiver with 12 catches for 315 yards.
College Football Betting Trends
North Carolina
UNC has hit the under in eight of its last nine Thursday games and in 11 of its last 16 ACC contests.
Miami
Miami has hit the under in eight of its last nine conference games and in 10 of its last 13 games on grass.
Prediction:
A short week for both teams could lead to some issues offensively. Miami’s defense is already pretty strong and can shut down UNC on normal prep time. The Heels should struggle even more on a short week. The Hurricanes have potential on offense, but I suspect they will not be able to put up a big number on the short week. These two have hit the under in five of their last six meetings and I think it will be six of seven.
College Football Prediction: North Carolina/Miami Under 55.5
