Colorado is coming off a 52-31 win over Colorado State when the two met up in Denver last Friday night. The Buffaloes covered as an 11.5-point favorite while going over the 55-point total.
There was plenty of yardage in last week’s game, as the Rams had 505 total yards while the Buffaloes had 475 yards. Colorado gave up a lot of yards, but was aided by creating four turnovers. Alex Fontenot led the Colorado offense with 125 rushing yards on 19 attempts, including three touchdowns. Steven Montez had 232 passing yards with two touchdowns while Mikial Onu led the defense with two interceptions.
Nebraska sluggish in opener

The Cornhuskers were not solid offensively last weekend, putting up just 276 total yards against South Alabama. The defense was surprisingly good, holding South Alabama to just 314 yards while forcing five turnovers. Adrian Martinez was underwhelming, throwing for 178 yards on 13 of 22 passing with one interception and no touchdowns. Prediction:
Nebraska didn’t look good last week, but the Cornhuskers may have been looking ahead to this game. It’s hard to have trust in them right now after that performance, but I do have trust in Scott Frost. As a head coach, his team continue to get better and I think that continues. I expect Nebraska to rise to the level of its competition today on the road and run past Colorado. Nebraska seems on the verge of a breakout season and I think it starts today.
