N.C. State on big skid
N.C. State has lost its last four games following a 34-20 loss to Louisville at home last weekend. The Wolfpack are now 4-6 on the year, 1-5 in the ACC, 2-8 against the spread and 6-4 with the under.
The Wolfpack have struggled to find consistent offense this year, as they are averaging just 22.9 points and 383.5 yards per game. Defensively, N.C. State is giving up 29.2 points and 377.2 yards per game. Devin Leary has taken over the starting QB position in recent games. He has thrown for 894 yards and six touchdowns with three interceptions. Zonovan Knight is leading the offense with 589 rushing yards and four touchdowns while Emeka Emezie is the leading receiver with 51 catches for 521 yards and two scores. Defensively, Larrell Murchison is leading the way with 43 tackles and seven sacks.
Tech struggling in new system
Georgia Tech has had a rough go of things in 2019. The Yellow Jackets are currently on a three-game losing streak following a 45-0 loss to Virginia Tech last weekend. Tech is now just 2-8 on the season, 1-6 in the ACC, 2-8 against the spread and 5-5 with the over/under total.
Geoff Collins took over Tech this year and moved the team away from the option offense. The Jackets have struggled on offense this year, averaging just 16.5 points and 290.4 yards per game. Defensively, Tech is allowing 31.1 points and 412.2 yards per contest. Jordan Mason is leading the offense with 721 rushing yards and seven touchdowns while James Graham has thrown for 995 yards and eight touchdowns, but has seven interceptions. Graham also has 166 rushing yards and two scores. Ahmarean Brown is the leading receiver with 18 catches for 365 yards and five touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
N.C. State
N.C. State is 19-1-1 with the under in their last 21 Thursday games and 19-8 with the under in their last 27 conference games.
Georgia Tech
Georgia Tech has hit the under in five of its last six home games, but has hit the over in six of its last eight conference games.
Prediction:
These two have hit the over in four straight meetings, but this Georgia Tech team is very different than the one that played in those four games. The Yellow Jackets haven’t scored more than 28 points in any game this year and have been held to 14 or less in five games. N.C. State isn’t a great offense either, scoring 20 or less in five of their last six. These two may see an uptick in scoring on Thursday due to playing against lesser defenses, but I think the offensive execution will still be an issue. There just hasn’t been consistency from either offense and both have been working in younger players.
College Football Week 13 Prediction: N.C. State/Georgia Tech Under 47.5
