The final bowl game before the national championship will take place on Tuesday night when LSU takes on Kansas State at 9:00 p.m. ET in the TaxAct Texas Bowl. Are the Wildcats laying too many points or will K-State roll against 6-6 LSU?

LSU Tigers Game Notes
LSU will only have 39 scholarship players and four staff members for tomorrow’s Texas Bowl. LSU has seen it’s roster gutted from transfers, opt-outs, COVID protocols and academic issues, and will have barely any players on hand to play against Kansas State. They also won’t have much in the way of coaches, with OL coach Brad Davis taking the reins. The worst part is that the Tigers will have no scholarship QBs to speak of. According to the Athletics’ Stewart Mandel, this game wouldn’t even be able to be played under 2020’s COVID protocols because of LSU’s lack of players. It’s going to be an interesting game, if it even gets played.
Kansas State Wildcats Game Notes
Kansas State has fired offensive coordinator Courtney Messingham. Head coach Chris Klieman made a few changes on the coaching staff as Messingham and assistant coach Jason Ray will not be retained. Though the Wildcats ranked sixth in the Big 12 in rushing yards per carry (4.8 YPC) and fourth in yards per pass (8.3 YPP) this past season, they failed to score more than 38 points in a single game. Klieman and Messingham go way back including their together at North Dakota State. Quarterbacks coach Collin Klein will serve as Kansas State’s interim offensive coordinator for its bowl game.
LSU vs. Kansas State Texas Bowl Prediction
The under is 4-1 in the Tigers’ last five games overall and is 4-0 in their last four games coming off an ATS win. On the other side, the under is 5-1 in the Wildcats’ last six games overall, is 16-5 in their last 21 games as a favorite and is 8-3 in their last 11 games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game.
