LSU Tigers Game Notes
LSU redshirt junior QB Myles Brennan has entered the transfer portal, according to a report from The Athletic. Brennan (6’4/207) lost his first quarterback competition to graduate transfer Joe Burrow and was neck-and-neck with the likes of Max Johnson and Garrett Nussmeier at the beginning of the 2021 season. He was removed from the battle, though, by a broken arm he sustained in the offseason. It’s clear Brennan believes he has a better opportunity beyond Baton Rouge, as he’s now entered the transfer portal according to Brody Miller of The Athletic. Over four years at LSU, Brennan completed 60.2% of his passes for 1,712 yards with 13 touchdowns and six interceptions.
Alabama Crimson Tide Game Notes
Alabama junior WR John Metchie has outdone his peers at the position in yards after catch for some time. Metchie (6’0/195) has undoubtedly had a successful 2021 season with the Crimson Tide, reeling in 52 receptions for 601 yards with five touchdowns so far this season. He’s been playing at a high level in several statistical categories as well, including yards after the catch. According to Pro Football Focus, Metchie 760 total yards gained after the catch since 2020 — more than any other active wideout in college football.
