Cardinals edge BC
Louisville is coming off a 41-39 win over Boston College at home last weekend to move to 3-2 on the season. The Cardinals are 1-1 in the ACC and 3-2 against the spread, all while going 3-2 with the under thus far.
The Cardinals have been pretty good on offense, averaging 32.4 points and 484.6 yards per game this season. The defense is allowing 26 points and 393.6 yards per outing. Injuries have been an issue at QB, as Jawon Pass has missed three games with a foot injury and is questionable to play on Saturday. Malik Cunningham has played well in place of Pass, throwing for 721 yards and five touchdowns this season. He also has rushed for 167 yards and three touchdowns. Javian Hawkins has rushed for 562 yards and two touchdowns to lead the ground attack while Tutu Atwell has caught 25 passes for 424 yards and five scores.
Wake stays unbeaten
Wake Forest is also coming off a close win over Boston College, only theirs was two weeks ago and on the road. The Demon Deacons are 5-0 on the year, 2-0 in the ACC, 2-2-1 against the spread and 3-2 with the under.
The Demon Deacons have been led by their high-powered offense that is averaging 35.8 points and 515 yards per game this season. Defensively, Wake is giving up 21 points and 393.2 yards per game. Jamie Newman has thrown for 1,521 yards and 14 touchdowns, while rushing for 262 yards and three scores to lead the offense. Sage Surratt is his leading receiver with 34 catches for 515 yards and six scores while Scotty Washington has 27 catches for 470 yards and six more touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Louisville
Louisville has hit the over in seven straight games in October and in four of its last five road games.
Wake Forest
The Demon Deacons have hit the under in five of their last six home games and in eight of their last 10 games following a bye week.
Prediction:
These two have hit the over in their last two meetings, but went under in four straight prior to that. Defense hasn’t been a staple for either team in recent years and definitely not this season. Wake has put up at least 38 points in three of five games and I think that can be done against this Louisville defense that gave up 39 to Boston College at home last week. The Cardinals may be able to find some holes in this Wake defense as well. While the Demon Deacons have a better defense than Louisville, they still are susceptible to big plays and the Cardinals have some speed to work with. I expect a bit of a track meet here.
College Football Week 7 Prediction: Louisville/Wake Forest Over 64.5
