Cowboys come up short
The Oklahoma State football team suffered its first loss of the season last week in a 36-30 defeat at Texas to start Big 12 play. The Cowboys are 3-1 on the year, 0-1 in the Big 12, 4-0 against the spread and 2-2 with the over/under total.
The Cowboys are one of the stronger offenses in the nation, putting up 44.5 points and 533.8 yards per game. Defensively, Oklahoma State is giving up 26.8 points and 415 yards per contest. Chuba Hubbard has rushed for 642 yards and nine touchdowns to lead the offense while Spencer Sanders has thrown for 890 yards and seven touchdowns. He has also rushed for 328 yards and two scores. Tylan Wallace is the leading receiver with 20 catches for 473 yards and six touchdowns.
K-State hoping to stay perfect
The Kansas State football team is coming off a 31-24 win at Mississippi State two weeks ago. They had an off week last week before starting Big 12 play. K-State is 3-0 on the year, 3-0 against the spread and 2-1 with the over.
The Wildcats have been great defensively this year, allowing just 12.7 points and 256 yards per game. The K-State offense is putting up 44 points and 454.3 yards per contest, including 280 rushing yards per game. James Gilbert is leading the ground attack with 277 yards and three touchdowns. Skylar Thompson has thrown for 486 yards and four touchdowns while Malik Knowles has caught nine passes for 137 yards and two scores.
College Football Betting Trends
Oklahoma State
The Cowboys have covered the spread in four straight home games and in six straight against a winning team.
Kansas State
The Wildcats have covered the spread in five straight overall and in five of their last six games on fieldturf.
Prediction:
Kansas State has been a thorn in the side for Oklahoma State, covering the spread in seven of the last eight meetings and in five straight trips to Oklahoma State. The Wildcats were able to go on the road and win at Mississippi State two weeks ago, so going to Stillwater shouldn’t be something too intimidating. If the spread were higher, I’d go with the Wildcats. However, this is a night game for the Cowboys and they are coming off a cover at Texas. I think Oklahoma State is a pretty good team and its offense should carry it today by simply winning a shootout.
